Ford just revealed the 2017 Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package at the Chicago Auto Show, but the Blue Oval will also bring a Sport Appearance Package to the Escape this spring to offer similar upgrades on the smaller crossover. The various tweaks will give the CUV a slightly meaner look and will offer a little more interior comfort.

Ford thinks customers want more options to customize their newly purchased crossover. The Escape's Sport Appearance Packages adds an abundance of black trim, including for the light bezels, the beltline molding around the windows, the front fenders, and roof rails. There are also gloss black parts for the front and rear skid plates, upper grille, and mirror caps. Finally, the models ride on 19-inch Ebony Black wheels. Inside, there's a little more luxury thanks to partially leather-trimmed sport seats with contrasting stitching and leather wrapping for the gearshift knob and steering wheel.

The 2017 Escape Sport Appearance Package is available on the SE and Titanium trims but not with the SE Leather Comfort Package or Titanium Tech Package. There's no word on price, yet.
