Jay Leno has one of only 137 examples of the 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and he can't wait to show off its amazing powertrain on the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. After a long drive through the hills, the big smile on Leno's face perfectly sums up his feelings about his latest purchase.

Leno invites Ford engineer Jamal Hameedi for an expert walkthrough around the GT350R. According to Hameedi, Ford used the 4.5-liter V8 in the Ferrari 458 Italia as a benchmark for the GT350's flatplane-crank V8, but when the engineering team weighed the final version, the Mustang's 5.2-liter was 13 pounds lighter than the smaller engine in the other prancing horse.

Once the guys hit the road, Leno says the engine sounds like a symphony. In fact, he wants to know why every V8 can't have a flatplane crank. After a few pulls on the freeway, Leno and Hameedi eventually arrive on some twisty roads where the Mustang proves to be a fantastic driver's car. It's safe to say after watching this clip that Leno doesn't have any buyer's remorse after getting the GT350R.
