GKN Driveline has developed new electric drive technology for the UK's Concept_e BEV project. As part of a program to develop next-generation powertrains for electrified vehicles, GKN has created two new eAxles for electric vehicles. The single-speed eAxle for the front axle, capable of 15,000 rpm, pairs with an 85-kW electric motor. The two-speed eAxle, based on the one developed for the BMW i8, is paired with a 145-kW electric motor to power the rear wheels.
