Explosions are scary. Explosions underground are very scary. Explosions in sewer systems, meanwhile, are utterly terrifying. Not only is there the whole blowing up thing, there's the effect such a disaster has on nearby manhole covers.

This video comes from Buffalo, NY where, it sounds like, there was some kind of underground fire happening. Right as a witness is preparing to be interviewed, we hear the clap of something detonating and spot a manhole cover fly high, high into the air. With some manholes weighing as much as 300 pounds, it doesn't take much of an imagination to figure out what would happen to a car or, God forbid, a person, if they were hit by a falling one (let alone one blowing up from beneath them)

Check out the action in the video up top.
