At first blush, it looks like the Latvian/German electric vehicle startup Inabikari has reached its crowdfunding target. After all, if you head on over to the Headtalker site, it says the campaign has reached over 700,000 people and ended with the goal 134 percent supported. But then you learn that Headtalker isn't where people go to donate money, it's where they go to say they're interested in a crowdfunding project. In other words, it's a no-cost click.

The reality is that Inabikari has only raised $21 out of a $1,000,000 goal on IndieGoGo to build the world's first crowdfunded electric vehicle. The plan, should it come to fruition, is a Crossover EV called the Rev.01 that would have a range of over 400 miles and a five-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 120 miles per hour. There could be both two-wheel and all-wheel drive. Given those figures, no wonder people are willing to click on a crowdfunding support site. You can see the pitch in the video above.
