For the 2016 model year, Volvo has announced that it is renewing production of the performance duo. In doing so, it will expand their availability to 13 new markets around the world, principally in the Middle East and including the United States. But the bigger news is that it will build another 750 examples of the two.
Priced around $60,000, the Polestar versions of the S60 and V60 are powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six kicking out an impressive 345 horsepower and an even more prodigious 369 pound-feet of torque. That's enough to send the sedan to 60 in 4.7 seconds and the wagon in 4.8 seconds, both topping out at an electronically limited 155 miles per hour.
Along with the engine, the Polestar models pack an upgraded suspension (with Öhlins shocks, carbon-reinforced strut brace and stiffer springs) fitted to 20-inch alloys with Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber; things are kept in check by Brembo brakes and enhanced by launch control and specially calibrated stability management.
After substantially exceeding customer demand expectations in 2014, the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar get a renewed production of 750 cars in 2015 and expand to 13 countries around the world.

After rolling out the cars to customers in eight countries last year, the S60 and V60 Polestar will be expanded to the Middle East for 2015, a region showing strong interest for Polestar. The new countries to get the MY16 Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar include Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
