With the dangerous reputation of the country's crocodiles, poisonous snakes, spiders and jellyfish, Australia gives the impression of a place full of creatures ready to kill people. Apparently the wind is a serious concern, as well. Of course those in the US have to deal with their fair share of destructive tornadoes and hurricanes, but the gusts on display in this short clip seem to come out of nowhere.

According to the YouTube description, this video was shot on December 29, 2014, in Central Victoria, Australia, as a wind storm hit. At first glance, everything appears fine with no dark or ominous skies to warn of what's to come. First, just a few branches come down, but things escalate amazing quickly from there to complete pandemonium.
