When his master, a homeless man in Goiana, Brazil, suffered an epileptic seizure, paramedics rushed him to the hospital. But the dog never left his owner's side, chasing the ambulance down the street. When his four little legs couldn't keep up, the paramedics, realizing how far the hospital was (and hopefully that the patient's condition wasn't so time-sensitive), stopped the ambulance and let him hop on.
"I've been doing this job for 19 years and I've never seen anything like it," said Celiomar Ferreira do Couto, the 42-year-old first-responder who captured this video, in speaking to the Mirror. We don't know how the patient's recovery has progressed, but we're hoping he makes a full recovery – if not for his own sake, then at least for the pup's.
