This gorgeous shot comes from the deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin and shows the USNS Pecos, a resupply ship. These ships were just a pair of the 19 taking part in Valiant Shield 2014, a massive, US-only exercise featuring over 18,000 servicemen and women from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.
An F/A-18E Super Hornet makes a low altitude bank over the deck of the USS George H.W. Bush. The Bush and this Super Hornet are part of the Navy's Fifth Fleet, operating in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea.
In yet another beautiful sunset shot, we see the silhouette of a US Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle out of Fort Irwin, CA. Attached to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment, the APC is taking part in exercises at the National Training Center.
This long-exposure shot shows an EA-18G Growler, an electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18 Hornet, launching from the deck of the USS George Washington. As with the shot from the USS Mustin, the Growler and the GW are taking part in Valiant Shield 2014.
