Could dashcams act as sort of a magnet for bizarre events? It's entirely plausible, considering the sheer number of insane things that are caught on the handy video cameras. This latest one comes from Ukraine, which as you probably know, has been locked in a pretty nasty dispute with Russia and allegedly Russian-backed separatists.

In the short video, we see a car driving along a lonely highway when the ground suddenly explodes ahead of him. It's impossible to tell from the video, but the lucky driver thinks he just barely missed being hit by a missile. What kind of missile was involved, considering the smallish size of the explosion, is unclear, but considering the hostilities in the area, his claim might have some merit.

Take a look at the video, the aftermath and the effect on the poor driver's car.

more likely a mortar or artillery shell. Missile would show a large object crashing through the brush.

Good thing he was driving a Lada! If anything could survive an explosion like that...

nope. ''explosion'' is to slow... looks more like a configuration than a detonation. also the white smoke 200ms in is a dead give-away.. this was a slow burn and pushed up from underneath the pavement... you can see the pavement slowly coming up in one large chunk

Apparently the stupid AB can't print out Cyrillic. Well, the '????' should've been Jiga written in Cyrillic, but it lost the point now.

In Russia you don't bomb down the road, road bombs you.

Pause the video and look at all the race-me stickers on the car. Not that one thing has anything remotely to do with the other, it's just funny from a car-enthusiast POV, is all.

It's not "In Soviet Russia" yet. But Putin is trying his best to turn Ukraine into Soviet once again.

Good point.  Plus, warfare doesn't make the best comedy fodder.
