Tesla electric vehicles are no strangers to the tuner set. Saleen is working on a modified Model S. Brabus once offered neon for your Roadster. And new we find a number of body panel upgrades for the Model S from Unplugged Performance.

Unplugged Performance has its offices right by the Tesla's Supercharger in Hawthorne, CA, and sales manager Mark Borushko told AutoblogGreen that Tesla employees often express their appreciation for what UP has done to change the look of the Model S. The upgrade parts are made in the US and were designed in-house by an ex-Ferrari guy, Borushko said.

What upgrades are there? There's the front spoiler and diffuser (starting at $995), the rear spoiler and diffuser ($1,550), trunk spoiler ($895), side skirts ($1,450) and the Complete Front Fascia System ($1,000). Those prices are all for the unpainted parts. Add a few hundred bucks to each to upgrade to matching paint colors or carbon fiber parts. Borushko said that in the year that Unplugged Performance has been around, they've sold about 30 kits – meaning one of everything – worldwide. There are people who just buy just the trunk spoiler, for example, he said, but about 90 percent of UP's customers opt for the full kit. Borushko said UP will have to see if there's interest in a kit for the Model X, but there likely will be.

Unplugged Performance is a part of Bulletproof Automotive, which offers upgrades for all sorts of vehicles. The Unplugged Performance phone number is the same as the one for Tesla Everything, so we're pretty sure someone over there is a big Model S fan.

I guess it's cool... if you're into pointless body kits. All I see is $6k worth of a pseudo Benz-Lexus mashup tacked onto an otherwise beautiful an elegant car. Also, range is a big deal with electric cars. Teslas are designed to be slippery. This body kit will defeat the whole purpose of that.

I see the body kit parts but why do they use "Performance" in their name without increasing the performance of the car or adding any performance parts?

The word performance can be used in many different ways. Has anyone ever told you, "Great performance" or "Your performance was excellent".

How To Ruin Your Tesla: By Unplugged Performance; The Leader in Tacky Aftermarket Model S Mods

Yeah, but then they ruin it by slapping their stupid logo on the side of your car. Here's a little clue for all the custom car/motorcycle companies: Nobody wants to see your logo, nobody. Nobody cares where your customer got his spoiler, wheels or exhaust. Those extremely few who do will ask your customer about it. So stop putting your awful logo on everything. It's stupid, and so are you.

It's advertisement. I would imagine this is their test mule for products they're selling. I can guarantee you that no one who purchases these products adds the logo.

Oh, I've seen enough "custom" cars around to know the companies that do it will stick their logos onto absolutely everything. And doing it is not good advertisement, as the insignificant portion of the public who cares where that dude got his faux carbon fiber hood will just ask that dude, and the rest of the planet just won't give a crap. If I buy something, that purchase does not come with the assumption that I'll provide free advertisement for that company.

I smoked to death a Tesla yesterday and an Audi S4 with my 1988 BMW M5 (a 26 year old car) . The stupid idiot driver in the scrap Tesla was flooring it on the highway and was stunned. I hope this Tesla goes bankrupt, what a junk joke scrap idiot car for the stupids.

That's like someone beating a 528i and saying they "smoked a M5".....Maybe you beat a Tesla MS 60, which is slower, but not a P85, which will beat today's M5 as well the S4, and even RS models under 100MPH (even though RS7 has a faster 0-60, the Tesla covers more distance sooner due to the instant torque). From a dig or from a roll, the performance model Tesla will beat almost anything, full power at all RPMs, no transmission, and no turbo lag....Even on the highway, I've had AMGs and Ms trying to overtake me and I can even wait until they're nearly alongside of me before starting to accelerate and still not let them past, in spite of the speed differential. The throttle response is brutal.

Johnny - I believe you smoked, but it was the evil weed! No way your old bucket of bolts with that rotten interior could win a race.

Yeah. I hope they go bankrupt too. Who needs an American company designing cars in America and providing job for Americans. Why do we need companies like that? Lets all buy 1988 M5's so we can smoke Tesla's and compensate for what's in our pant. What a joke of a life you must lead. I am thinking you are that 5'5" guy at the gym walking around like Mr Universe.
