Watch $6 million worth of Pagani Zonda Revolucion get their track on
Launched just months ago, the Revolucion may not be the ultimate Zonda in terms of timeline – Pagani did build a couple more after it – but it will surely be remembered as the ultimate Zonda in terms of power and performance. It takes the track-bound formula of the Zonda R to an even further extreme, with its 6.0-liter V12 – naturally aspirated and built for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG – cranked up to 800 horsepower, coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox and Brembo carbon ceramic disc brakes to give it otherworldly performance that would put many purpose-built racecars to shame. (In fact the less powerful Zonda R did just that when it recorded a Nürburgring lap time of 6:47.5 four years ago, putting it third on the all-time leaderboards behind only the record-holding Porsche 956 and a Formula 2 single-seater.)
Horacio and company only built five examples, each with a sticker price of around $3 million (before taxes). So you can see what we mean by the rare prospect of spotting one, but here supercar videographer extraordinaire Marchettino – who always seems to be in the right place at the right time when it comes to exotic metal – captured not one, but two Zonda Revolucions getting some track time in at the San Martino Del Lago circuit, less than an hour and a half's drive away from their birthplace in Modena.
