It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has – and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.

The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing – more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.

btw they made several drag races there (in the dry) between 918 and Agera R, Mc Laren 650S and the 918 spanked the Agera R badly several times... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXLE6otus8s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsHiYX-0YzU

It sucks that the guy who gets to drive the P1 doesn't even know that it doesn't have re-gen braking.

I believe the p1 doesnt have regen braking because it would take away some of the pedal feel. However when you're off throttle, and off brake it recoups some energy while coasting.

He clearly states that because of all the braking, his range increased...

He doesn't explicitly say the range is now greater because of regen braking. He leaves open the possibility that the gas engine had been charging the battery during the run, as he wasn't going very fast at all. I think that's what he probably thought had happened. I'm dutch, have seen him in other vids and he probably knows of the P1 not having regen braking

Wow, 3 of the best new super cars on the same track. If I had the money, I'd buy any of these but in this order #1 Ferrari, #2 918 and #3 P1. The Ferrari looks like a ferocious red alien. It's the most exotic car I ever seen in my life so far. Before this it was Aventador.
