Not content with a bit part on the options sheet, high-end sound gets a starring role on the BMW Individual 6 Series Gran Coupe Bang & Olufsen Edition. There's no technical difference between the 1,200-watt, 16-speaker High End Surround Sound System in this run of 6 Series Gran Coupes and the $3,700 system you can order as an option on the standard Gran Coupe, but the special edition gets brushed black aluminum finish speaker grilles, a first for the range.

The packages and colors are what set these apart, exteriors available in either Brilliant White Metallic or Dark Graphite II Metallic, interiors possible in either black or Opal White and black. You'll also get upgrades like the Cold Weather, M Sport Edition Packages on the non-M car, the Competition Package and Executive Package on the M, plus piano black wood trim, special floor mats and lots of B&O badging.

This isn't just a special edition, it's a limited edition, with BMW saying only 100 will be produced. Prices start at $116,240 for the 650i B&O Edition and top out at $152,423 for the M6 B&O Edition. There's a press release below with more details, and we've included a video on the stereo itself to help understand why it might deserve a car named after it.

      $116k for a 650i. LOL.
$152,423 for a B&O branded BMW M6???? You hear that? That's the sound of the BMW printing press.

150k, HA my pops has a 14 m6 gc, he picked up used for 97k. Even at that it is overpriced without a doubt. I can't believe people buy these things (assuming they do) his is the only 4 door m6 ive seen on the street. For this price range I want something more exotic with more panache.
you're right, have yet to see an M6 GC on the street. interesting to hear from someone who has one though.

rest of world paying at least $12k for a naked 650i, i paid $326k for a M6. so much complain from land of cheap car.
Ironically, in countries where these cars do cost $350k it's the royal family and their cronies buying them a the expense of their starving citizens' welfare....

      BMW. Please. Just stop.

Fix the title! It should say "bang" not "band"

Living in Westchester County, NY I've seen, like, one 6-Series Gran Coupe. Maybe two, but could have been the same one I guess. The A7 on the other hand...
Would anyone who's spent time listening to the upgraded B&O sound system care to comment on how it sounds? How does it compare to the other audio trim levels, and does it stack up against other makes in the class?

bmw keeps sinking more money into the 6 series, but i don't think it is worth it.
I remember when this car was first shown as a concept and I fell in love with it. However, now that it's been on the market for 2 years I have been turned off by it's ridiculous pricing. I actually wanted this car, but bought an A7 for basically half the price... and they kind of are supposed to compete against each other. This car should have just been the 5 Series and they should have started them in the $52,000 range. They would have sold like hot cakes then.

BMW will soon offer a "Limited Luxury Super Spectacular World Editions" featuring Corinthian leather, a padded vinyl roof, delectable coach lamps gracing the etched C pillar opera windows, complementary pinstripes, and a 20,000 watt 8-track quadraphonic sound system by Zenith. Only 100 will be offered to those deemed suitable by the marketing geniuses at Bayerische Motoren Werke. Pricing starts at whatever we think we can pick out of your pockets.

(I say this as a BMW owner -owner not lessor) 2 Questions: (1) Does it come with a suit that is invisible to those unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent? (2) Always the most important question for any BMW: How mush is the lease payment?
