Nissan is celebrating 80 years of building pickup trucks by teasing its latest one on Twitter ahead of a June 11 reveal. Official information about the new vehicle is essentially nonexistent at the moment, but there are some clues to extrapolate from.

The tweet was published on Nissan's global feed, rather than a regional one, which may suggest a vehicle for multiple regions. That hints that this might be our first look at the platform for the next-generation Frontier because it's sold in several countries around the world as the Navara pickup. From the teaser image, you can easily make out the truck's grille and LED running lights. It also appears to have roof rails on top. The new Titan is probably a less likely candidate because it's only available in North America, and it's already rumored for a reveal at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show.

To mark 80 years of pickups, Nissan also released a brief video showing off past models and looking toward the future by displaying the same model under wraps. Scroll down to watch it.

This is huge news actually if all new design. There has not been any new midsize pickups in 10 years!! The current ones frontier, and tacoma are all gaz guzzlers, the upcoming Chevy Colorado is huge!!!!!!!! So yeah this is big news for anyone that wants a liveable size pickup that gets better then 14mpg overall!! I am not in the market but when I was this would be a huge deal so I am sure that this thing will become the new sales leader over Toyota since that design is olllllllllllllllllllllllld

Wonder if we'll see another Xterrra or is that model totally dead for the future?

We might see a new Xterra since the Xterra was just an SUV version of the Frontier and not a more off-road version of the Pathfinder.

If they opt for it. Last I heard, Xterra sales had been slumping and Nissan was on the fence about continuing it.

Well at least its consistent with their design language. This looks to be about the size of the current Frontier, though. Saw a rumor a couple years ago that said that the next gen one would be smaller.

Probably Global Navarra. The Frontier of the east.

I think the new owners on Saab could make more money suing about the grill of this car than by actually selling Saab-ish things.

only thing new about that truck is probably some led's and maybe a diesel option.

A diesel option in the US would be a very big deal.

From what I see, the headlights, grille, and hood are all new. This looks nothing like the current Frontier.

nissan have been working on new truck engines for the frontier, and a transmission will come from ZF, that was in the pipeline from 2010, and the titan was to be base from the RAM, you have not seen the truck nor know what under the hood yet you are claiming nothing new, nissan out side of USA have several new engines like the 1.2 dig-t, 1.6 dig-t(150HP), 2.0DI, and a 2.5 turbo clean diesel build by nissan used in the NV300.

That's not a new anything. It's a rebadged Dacia Duster and that's all. Also, your previous post is just a lame attempt at spamming your own website.

Thats not my website at all. I am only stating that since nissan took the duster and rebaged it there is a possibility that nissan will just rebage the duster pick up also. And that will be a very intresting car for europe
