The Volkswagen Golf is one of Europe's preeminent vehicles. It's regularly one of the top sellers, and the latest, seventh generation appears to be one of the best ever. It was even named the 2013 World Car of the Year. So how do you sell a car that everyone knows about with over 30 million built? Well, humor, of course.

In a new video VW has teamed up with Auto Express to show how a Golf is made. But instead of taking us through the same antiseptic auto factory, it's recreating all of the steps with a person. The host dresses up in some overalls and goes through the hatchback's complete body production process. It's a clever and unique way to sell a product that everyone already has an idea about. Scroll down to watch how VW builds its perennial hatch, with man in place of car.

It would have been more "instructive" if they used a woman, sans overalls.

"It's a clever and unique way to sell a product that everyone already has an idea about." It's also a clever and unique way to sell a product that doesn't have much to say for itself.
