Motorists Try To Drive Wrong Way Down Interstate To Escape Traffic Jam
Multiple accidents left I-635 a mess
Eastbound lanes on Interstate 635 became a jumbled mess Tuesday afternoon as drivers attempted to turn around and drive the wrong way down the freeway to escape a traffic jam caused by emergency responder's efforts to clear a flipped vehicle near Audelia, Texas.
Two additional accidents happened as Dallas Police and Fire Rescue attempted to clear the scene, according to CBS DFW. Police had to walk up to cars, tap on windows and direct drivers to turn around in an effort to clear up the jam. Some drivers told CBS DFW that it was Dallas police who worsened the situation by directing them to violate traffic laws.
Once the cars were headed in the right direction the traffic began to flow smoothly. No one was injured in the accidents.
