LAPD Adds Lamborghini Gallardo To Fleet
Supercar will be displayed at charity events
The supercar was a gift from Nathalie and Travis Marg, proprietors of telecommunication contractor Light Source 1 Inc. They donated the supercar to the police department in recognition of its hard work protecting the community, Sergeant Frank Preciado told Autoblog.com.
Other police departments around the world have added supercars to their fleet of vehicles. Dubai police bought a Lamborghini Aventador last year, not to pursue speeders in a town notorious for its fast exotic cars, but to impress tourists.
Like Dubai, you won't see this Lambo careening after bad guys around L.A. anytime soon. The LAPD's Lamborghini will be used for display at charity events only. And in case you miss the chance to see it in person at the Los Angeles Country Air Show this weekend, the police department has set up a Twitter and Instagram account for the new car.
