Jeremy Clarkson has become the star of Top Gear with his mix of hyperbole, funny faces and penchant for sometimes putting his foot in his month, and the auto writer's childhood home is now for sale in the UK for a cool 595,000 pounds ($988,848). In addition to the automotive connection, Clarkson's mother created the Paddington Bear stuffed toys there in the '70s.

The farmhouse was built in the 16th century and includes two reception rooms and two bathrooms. However, it's pretty obvious why Clarkson wouldn't want to buy the house himself. According to UK site Zoopla, the garage measures 21 feet long by 12.1 feet wide. That's hardly enough for his supercars.

The four-bedroom house is in the village of Burghwallis in the county of South Yorkshire, England. According to the listing, Shirley Clarkson invented the toys when she made two bears named Paddington as Christmas presents for her children. While she didn't write the original story, the stuffed bears became hugely popular. Click through the gallery for a glimpse into how Clarkson grew up.

How are their moms doing? I hope they are all well. I haven't heard much about their mothers since the show where they all tested small cars together.

Money? This home looks pretty average to me. Then again, I'm used to American real estate.

the average home price in the us is around 270,000 dollars, meaning this house is 4X the american average.

Typical of Brit homes only a 1 car garage, and no screens on the windows. And where are the baths-1 up 1 down or both up and one is en suite. I'd at least add another car space onto the garage, a guest bath downstairs and window screens. It's ok for 800's. seen better and seen worse.

Most British homes do have one car garage and Brits actually put their cars in them, versus Americans who fill their garages with crap and leave their cars out on the driveway. Of course many don't have a garage as they were built before cars became popular. Windows Screens, there simply is no need for screens, its the UK not the Amazon.

Window screens? Is that in any way relevant to the value of a home? I lived in Britain and never had a need for window screens. I was never overrun by insects. It is usually cool enough at night to want to shut the windows, anyway.

Jeremy looks kind of smelly to me. Bad breath, strong Bo & foot odor. Ill bet his old bedroom is still funky. James looks a little better. Only the gay guy with the teeth looks clean. :)

If i were Mr. Clarkson i would buy the house just to keep the memories. 600k is pocket change for him.

Anyone remember that episode where Jeremy took an old S-Class and transformed the interior to look like his house? Well now I know which house he based it on.
