The passing of William Clay Ford has been a big event for the company he spent most of his life helping run. Ford spent 57 years working for his family's company. Considering the Blue Oval has been around for over 100 years, WCF's passing is the end of an era for the Dearborn-based manufacturer.

Ford's YouTube channel has issued a short memorial video highlighting the life of the longest-lived grandson of company founder Henry Ford. It follows William Clay from his time as a boy, showing him alongside his grandfather, through his younger years, and into his twilight, as the patriarch of the Ford family.

Take a look below for this touching memorial video on William Clay Ford.

You know, all that is said about Mr. Ford's strong sense of loyalty and the apparent conscience that his son seems to have about issues that could probably be easily considered counter to his family's business interests, in the most shallow sense, suggests that Mr. Ford probably lived a pretty good life, and lived it well. Godspeed...

Met the Fords in the late 1980's.Our monument co had the privilege to once again design & fabricate their family monument in the cemetery of which we had also served other Ford family members. It was quite an experience to work with the Fords due to the fact that in the few times we were all togather you were made to feel so comfortable when in their presence. I offer my most sincere condolences to the entire family and will always remember those hours spent with two quality individuals with such a pleasant smile and zest for life.

Ford are still careful not to be "too advanced" as to the car they put out next model year.
