Eric Bana joins the field of the 2014 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour race next month, driving for the Australian FXD Workwear team. Bana's done the race twice before, coming in tenth overall in 2009 in his Love the Beast Mitsubishi Lancer RS Evo X, posting a DNF in the same car in 2010.

This year he'll be in Class B behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 prepared by Racing Incident, joined by teammates Peter Hill and Simon Middleton. The race happens during the weekend of February 7-9, you can find a press release with the announcement below. You'll want to take the time to get to know it this year, because it's been widely reported that Eric Bana will return next year to share a Porsche 911 GT3 with Mark Webber.

I hope no one makes him angry. You wouldn't like his driving when he's angry.

I saw the documentary and I am very sure the beast was not a Mitsubishi Lancer! The car had a serious V8 under the hood and leave springs at the back; it was a Ford Falcon.

First, reread the article. Secondly, look up Eric Bana at this very same race in a Love The Beast SPONSORED Lancer Evo X.

Hector in Troy, The Hulk (Ang Lee version), he was the bad Romulan in the first Star Trek reboot a few years ago. Probably best role was his lead role in Munich, an excellent movie. C'mon man, got to support the actor/drivers!

Like to see them try a 12 hour race on an oval. High speed all the way. No gear shifting except for entering and leaving the pits. Wonder how many engines would go bang.

Try the 24 Hours of Le Mans. If those cars can handle the Mulsanne Straight for a full twenty four hours, I don't think Daytona's much of a hassle for them...
