For a man who's best known for being mean to aspiring singers, Simon Cowell sure seems to garner lots of attention. While Cowell himself didn't make an appearance at Barrett-Jackson, his black on black Bugatti Veyron did, and bidding on it ended with a final sale price of $1.375 million.

Somewhat interestingly, this is the first certified pre-owned Bugatti sold through a new factory program. It includes a full one-year warranty, which must give its new owner some comfort. According to the auction company, Cowell has put 1,300 miles on this particular Veyron. See for yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for a video showing the live auction and the official auction description.

Going non-two tone on a Veyron makes it boring. I mean I wouldn't complain if it were a gift, and this one is novel for its color scheme, but two-tone paint is as much a part of the car's character as its engine.

I LOVE this car, but where (Except the Autobahn) can you "Open her Up"? Maybe the Salt Flats in Utah, but that's it. What fun is that?

That's not much different than what they go for anyway, so he doesn't enhance it's value at all.... BD

"For a man who's best known for being mean to aspiring singers" Mean? He's 100% honest. He is REAL. He does not bullshit like 99.9% of the other judges and people in general. Get out of here with "mean". If you think he's mean then your obviously fake. Real recognize real. Simon was the only reason that show was worth watching... and randy.

I'd bet he didn't drive it much because one day he had an open road in front of him and thought, "What the hell, lets see if this is as fast as they say it is." And then proceeded to scare the chit out of himself. Many people with more money than sense, make the mistake of buying superfast cars and then selling them quickly for that very reason. Any car that has more than 500hp with a 0 to 60 of less than 4 seconds, will kill you, so fast it would make your head spin, if you don't know what you are doing.

Simon Cowell is a better driver than 99% of the driving population. I'm pretty sure he didn't sell the car because he was scared of it.

In honesty I do not expect anything less...he is a rich bastard with too much money and little taste. He may "create" superstars but in reality he just puts his marketing machine behind them. This Bugatti just shows that he pretends to be a part of a super exclusive club that he cannot maintain. If he was truly wealthy the sale of this car would mean nothing, the fact of the mater is that he cannot afford to keep this car. Which in itself is a sad state of affairs. The sale price barley covers the cost of owning such a car since it was delivered new. And proves that Simon is not at all a car guy, just a famous person buying the "best" money can buy. He does not appreciate it at all, and reminds me that celebrities that can afford anything they want, and have all the opportunity at a discount.
