With less than two weeks before the start of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, we're starting to get a better idea of what some of the hot debuts are for this year's installment of America's premiere auto show.

The latest leaked image to hit the internet is what purports to be the Lexus RC F, the Japanese premium brand's long-awaited return to the coupe market and the latest challenger for the upcoming BMW M4, a model that will also be arriving in Detroit. This image was reportedly originally leaked by a Chinese magazine, and was then picked up by our friends at AutoExpress.

The image fits with the teasers and spy shots we've seen of the car so far, meaning that this could very well be the real deal. As we've previously reported, Lexus is expected to offer the RC F with a 460-horsepower V8, while a lower-power RC 350 with two fewer cylinders will also be available. We'll have the full set of details on the RC F when it hits the stage in Detroit.

        Seriously agree, what the hell are they thinking over there? The rest looks modestly racy and proportional but that grille is hideous.

          I agree bro. Lexus is on a war path of performance thanks to that man. I wont when they will start doing this to the Toyota side of things? I would love to see a new Mid engine M2 turbo and new celica.

      Might be a render, I think the headlights on the teaser had the new L headlights rather than the standard shown here. Regardless, it gives a good look of what it's going to most likely look like, and I don't think it's half bad.

        "...had the new L headlights rather than the standard shown here." Or, it could have just been the LED 'L" strip below the regular headlights, clearly visible in this picture....

          Go back to the red RC350/300h pictures, the main headlamp cluster (not the DRLs) had 3 "L"s in the headlight. http://www.caricos.com/cars/l/lexus/2015_lexus_rc_coupe/1280x960/13.html Now in this teaser show the same headlight "L" pattern can be seen. http://www.worldcarfans.com/113120967279/lexus-teases-an-all-new-f-model-for-detroit-could-be-the Now look at this article. The headlight cluster shows circlular lights as opposed to the "L"s on the RC350/300h and F teaser. That's why I think it could be a render, however these headlights could be an extra cost option and shown is a lowerspec model

          Bobby, you're right - good call. I DID remember seeing those L's too, but it totally slipped my mind here when I saw this pic and obviously again when I saw your comment. Makes me wonder what this pic is then? They probably DID take out the "L's" in the headlights, because this looks to be a picture of the highest-spec V8 RC-f F (side fender badging, wheels and car color give that away) OR an older render. Either way, sorry about that - good eye!

          He didn't mean the DRLs...so no the other headlights are not "clearly visible in this picture..."...

      I'm pretty confident the final product will look much better than this, Im not a lexus or a bmw fan but i don't understand why there is so much hate! Lexus is a good car and so is bmw, but truth be told lexus is raising the bar by looking different and it's looking good. This car looks exotic, even though the grill is different, in my opinion different is good, can't wait to see what the final results.

        @GTRracing
        This car does look exotic to the point you would expect it to be a Lexus.. this looks like a triple figure ride. Where the M4 looks like a BMW coupe this looks like something else. This will turn more heads then the M4 for sure plus it has the V8 sound track where the M4 has that muted turbo sound

      Ok Toyota, here is what you do. Take this chassis add a BMW TT I6 and manual trans then hire the best designer you can and make the next SUPRA!!!!

          Well you are going to see one. What do you think the BMW and Toyota deal was made for? BMW wants Toyota electric tech and Toyota wants BMW driving dynamics.

          A couple of days ago the two companies made an agreement where they'll be sharing and researching advancements in technology... there's been several hints of a Supra (any previous years were just flat out hear say). I don't want to see a Supra with a BMW motor either (think yamaha tuned engine). But we might just have to wait and see. I just hope they don't stick it under scion (I own one).

        Whats wrong with a Toyota TT I6 ? Would rather have that for reliability

          So would I but the reality is with the Toyota and BMW deal done there is no way they will make a new Toyota I6 when they can use the BMW ones.

      The new M4 and current-gen RS5 look way better than this. I wonder how it'll drive.
