We've seen the new Fit in Mugen trim, and we've seen the Vezel crossover that shares its platform in Mugen trim too. But those aren't the only vehicles Honda is selling around the world based on that platform. Now the third has popped up with the Mugen treatment, too.

That vehicle, of course, is the Honda City, a sedan version made in India for sale in south and southeast Asia. The tiny sedan could make it Stateside as part of the new Fit lineup to be made in Mexico, and if it does, we hope we get some of the parts shown here.

What we're looking at, in fact, is not simply a City kitted out from the Mugen parts catalog, but a special edition made for the Philippines. It's based on the 1.5 EL AT trim, so it only packs a 1.5-liter four with 120 horsepower and a five-speed automatic transmission. But Honda's Filipino subsidiary has fitted it with a full aero kit and white paintjob to at least make it look the part, and will only build 20 of them.

So the Mugen treatment is basically just crappy exterior plastic ground effects? Does Honda ever do ANYTHING with actual, real performance? They're (and Acura) are falling so far behind the rest of the pack in innovation.

This is the cleanest, least convoluted design execution present on any current generation Honda product. It doesn't break any new ground but at least it isn't littered with wacky stupid lines. It's actually rather tasteful. +1 Honda. #keepitup!

The current Si could use a wing like that. Anything to wake up passer-bys to the fact its actually quite fast.

I thought the Amaze was the "tiny" Honda sedan for those markets. This must be a bit bigger?

Mugen Kit only reminds me of riced up japanese crap cars driven by latinos in LA.

Imagine if Honda took the 2.4L engine from the Civic Si and stuffed it into the US-spec Fit sedan, then tightened the suspension and steering. Great packaging, great performance, unique in the segment. Price it around $20K and it would be a cult hit.

Now *that* would be a proper Mugen special edition IMO.
