The Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake has been prescribed both a face- and butt-lift to bring it in line with current AMG standards, and our spy shooters caught it recovering from the surgery. There will be a slightly curvier grille and larger intakes on the front spoiler as on the S63 AMG, as well as a resculpted rear bumper and diffuser. We're told the LED units up front will be updated, too.

Other spy shots show an interior reworked with the distinct COMAND screen setup that's still causing arguments as to whether its an improvement or not. Since the wagon was introduced this year and its 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 was just updated, there aren't changes expected under the hood.

As a current CTS wagon driver sad about the end of Cadillac's wagon line, I wish M-B marketed that car in the USA in a more affordable form (something more than a low-powered mom-mobile, but not as expensive as an AMG).

Arrg, why do they keep calling it a shooting brake? It's not, it's got 4 doors, it's a wagon. There's nothing wrong with wagons. Are we the crazy ones here? Do Americans want a car that handles great, has power, but can hold more than a regular car, without the terrible top-heavy handling and crap mileage of an SUV, but we're just hung up on the name "wagon" and once they call it something it isn't we'll suddenly buy it? Why can't we just buy wagons because they're as great as their sedan counterparts but with more space?

I mean really, let the number of doors (argument) go - regards to the vehicle name. Most average consumers wont like the CLS Shooting Brake but it will become a cult classic vehicle...especially in AMG trim.

The face is far too chiseled and handsome for such shapeless, bloated and bland rear end. Michael Fassbender / Rob Ford?? Stick with you're E-63 wagons. The CLS us gorgeous in it's natural form.
