We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?

Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

At first look, based on the headline image, I thought it was insanely cool, with some absolutely crazy fabrication work involved, splitting and fitting several vehicles together, great fit and finish ... making you wonder how someone pulled it off. Then you read the blurb. Oh, it turns out they didn't figure anything out too much nor build anything, because it is only digital. That really takes down the cool level to just a digital arts exercise.

Someone should really build this in real life. Put it outside where Pontiac used to be as a memorial sculpture or something.

Interesting! It looks like something that M. C. Escher would have done.

There is an old adage-- " 1 pic is worth a thousand words" , -----but that was before they learned to lie.

@volvoxc90decepticon: If you had bothered to spend < 30 seconds to read the short Autoblog article, you would have realized this was a computer rendering.

I'm guessing you thought the cars floating in mid air was normal.

I would love to drive one of those on the street if it were real for the sheer lunacy of it and check out the reactions it gets.
