A charity drive from Singapore to Malaysia went quite awry when a convoy of Lamborghinis smashed into each other on one of the city-state's highways, with one of the cars catching fire. And while it's easy to assume that the supercars were at fault, initial reports contradict that assumption.

It turns out the crash was a chain reaction set off by a local driver swerving toward two Gallardos and an Aventador, sending the latter into the guardrail and causing it to go up in flames. According to the report on CarBuzz, there were no injuries in the incident, although the circumstances - supercars burning in the midst of a charity event - draws some parallels to the tragic accident involving Paul Walker and Roger Rodas.

There's a short video taken after the wreck that can be viewed below. CarBuzz also has a few different images of the accident, aside from the screencap shown above.

Oh, no! There must be a design flaw in the cars. Gasoline powered vehicles are not supposed to do that, only electric ones! (sorry, I couldn't resist)

I was more horrified by the ugly ass wheels on the 7 Series. Did they export all the ghetto wheels from a decade ago over to Southeast Asia?

That's an expensive accident in the US. In Singapore, it's like burning money - where a honda accord costs $130,000. TO be fair, the Accord there is the Acura TSX.

This is a very good point, though most of the reason why cars are so expensive over there is due to how much the license to own one costs.

I've seen images of a dozen burning Lambos, but this is the first time I've seen an accident cause the fire.

yeah, they normally just go up in flames spontaneously, while moving or just idling.

"It turns out the crash was a chain reaction set off by a local driver swerving toward two Gallardos and an Aventador, sending the latter into the guardrail and causing it to go up in flames." It is quite common that drivers in Malaysia could not care less about using the bloody rear view mirrors and failing to use the turn signal. And when they do use the turn signal, the signal given seems like a super duper license for you to simply change lane.

More Asian countries drive like that. It is your responsibility for things in front of you. They dont worry about things behind them. If everyone pays attention to things in front of them, the things behind them will sort themselves.

It seems to me the more expensive the car, the more likely it is to catch fire.

No matter how mature you are, its hard to contain yourself when you get in to these super cars.

Can't expect it to go right when you have 1st world activities taking place in 3rd world countries.

What an ignorant comment. Singapore is most certainly a "developed" country with an advanced economy and high quality of life according to publications such as Newsweek and The Economist. Malaysia may not be as advanced as Singapore, but it's considered a "developing" country, still far from 3rd world. What exactly is a "1st World Activity" anyway? Just a dumb made up phrase to fuel your ignorance.

Did you see the news last weekend? A movie star was killed in a crash and a train derailed killing 4 people because of '1st world activities' in a 1st world country.

Singapore has a higher per capita GDP than the US, UK, Germany, France and Switzerland. Obviously whichever slum you came from didn't give you a proper education.

I'd like to see how you'd react in a freak accident collision. And not having money doesn't equal you get a free pass to say whatever bull s h ! t you want. It's actually kinda ironic you're talking about stupid, are you too poor to afford a mirror?

Did you even read the article? Just four lines down, it says: "It turns out the crash was a chain reaction set off by a local driver swerving toward two Gallardos and an Aventador, sending the latter into the guard rail and causing it to go up in flames." Seriously, this sudden reflex to bash and blame wealthy people whenever something unfortunate happens is starting to get really old. Money may not equal brains, but commenting on matters without actually looking into them definitely equals no brain.
