If you thought zip lines were reserved for team building exercises and lame family vacations you might want to check out this video from Russia. Even for a country where crazy videos are a main export, this one is nuts.

In this video posted on the blog Sploid, a car zip lines across a torrential river. According to Google Translate the video was shot in Siberia, a place known for its harsh landscape, low population density and lack of reliable infrastructure. With no bridges for miles, suspending a car from cables and sliding it across a raging river is apparently the only option.

No word on if anyone was inside the car at the time, but it's hard to imagine those daredevil Russians giving up the chance to take this ride. If only we could see the dash cam footage of the crossing.
