Ever since Venturi principal Gildo Pallanca Pastor scooped up the French motorcycle marque Voxan a few years back, we've wondered how Sacha Lakic – the go-to designer for the Monégasque businessman – would fuse the past products of the brand with its future-oriented electric drivetrain. We now have our answer. The Voxman Wattman has just been revealed at the Paris Motorcycle Show (le Salon de la Moto, for you sophisticated types), and it appears he decided to start from a fresh, clean, mostly-aluminum sheet.

Billed as the world's most powerful electric motorcycle, this muscular cruiser backs that boast with 200 horsepower.

Billed as the world's most powerful electric motorcycle, this muscular cruiser backs up that boast with 200 horsepower which, along with 147.5 pound-feet of torque, is said to accelerate this bulky beast up to 100 km/h (62 miles per hour) in a scant 3.4 seconds. It can hit 160 kph (99.42 mph) in as little as 5.9 seconds. We imagine it hits its 170-kph (105.6-mph) top speed quite soon after that. Considering its hefty 350-kg (771.6-pound) curb weight, that is indeed impressive.

The Wattman isn't all about acceleration, though. Forward motion of it's 18-inch carbon fiber wheels ought to be halted quite quickly, given its Beringer 4D System quadruple disc system up front. The rear suspension also promises to help keep the experience quite civilized and features dual swingarms – each with its own shock – that create a "parallelogram-shaped four-link suspension."

Within the exoskeletal aluminum chassis rests a 12.8-kWh lithium battery, good for journeys of up to 180 kilometers (111.8 miles). That's respectable by today's standards, but its real party trick is its ability to charge to 80 percent capacity in under 30 minutes when hooked up to a fast charger using a DC Combo II connector, which is the "European quick charge standard," according to Voxam.

The Voxan Wattman will be hand-built at the company's French manufacturing facility on an as-ordered basis. The price has not been disclosed but we would venture that if you can't afford to fly over to Monaco for a test ride and maybe while away a few hours at a Monte Carlo blackjack table, you probably can't afford this either. Further details await in the official press release below, accompanied by video featuring messieurs Pastor and Lakic effusing (in French) about their creation on the show floor.

WATTMAN, unveiled as a world premiere at the Paris Motorcycle Show, positions revived French brand VOXAN at the cutting edge of 100% electric propulsion.

A NEW FRENCH REVOLUTION VOXAN has today achieved a major revolution in French motorcycle history, with the presentation of an ultra-powerful and upscale machine, radically innovative in its technology and its architecture: WATTMAN.

Symbolic of VOXAN's revival, the WATTMAN illustrates the new techniques and stylistic direction of the brand, with avant-garde technologies in the field of electric mobility and a design that anticipates the shape of bikes to come.

AN ELECTRIC SHOCK OF 200 HP With 200 HP and an instantaneous torque of 200Nm up to 10,500 rpm, WATTMAN is now the world's most powerful electric motorcycle.

Synonymous with new sensations, WATTMAN offers driving pleasure in its purest form, capable of both lightning acceleration (0-160km/h in 5.9 seconds) and flexibility, thanks to its belt drive electric motor.

EXOSKELETON VOXAN inaugurates a new motorcycle architecture, built around a motor-battery pack carrier set. The frame is replaced by an ultra-rigid exoskeleton, integrating all the components of the powertrain. This results in a very pure motorcycle without a visible technical feature. To Sacha LAKIC, its designer: "this aluminium exoskeleton which contains the battery is the motorcycle's signature. You can tell from this design that it is an electric machine."

RECHARGED IN LESS THAN 30 MN WATTMAN features an exceptional charging time of 80% in less than 30 minutes, thanks to a "COMBO II" socket, the European quick charge standard. It can also connect to a standard household socket, thanks to its integrated charger.

Its ultra-compact 12.8kWh battery ensures 180km of range.

TECHNOLOGICAL LUXURY Primarily intended for an exclusive international clientele seeking innovation, WATTMAN will be produced unit-by-unit, upon order, and hand-assembled in France, at the Solesmes (Sarthe) Electric Vehicle Manufacture.

ABOUT VOXAN: Since its inception in 1995, the company VOXAN has embodied the renewal of the French motorcycle. It was taken over in 2010 by Gildo PALLANCA PASTOR, with the objective of positioning it at the forefront of technologies developed to support sustainable mobility – a choice identical to the one which led him to take over the French brand VENTURI in 2000, to make it a world leader in the field of electric propulsion.

For Gildo PALLANCA PASTOR, "the revival of VOXAN is part of a technological challenge, to focus our best technologies developed with Venturi Automobiles on a motorcycle. This is an outstanding product which is being launched today, a real pride for our team. WATTMAN will push VOXAN on a new path – the one of the future."
