Russia can be a scary place to drive. Between the tank crossings, meteors, bears, geysers, bus drivers, lightning strikes, semis and otherwise generally insane accidents, we get the sense that you'd be taking your life in your hands every time you climbed behind the wheel. With all the insanity on Russian roads, it was only a matter of time the road itself got in on the action, as you can see in this video.

Apparently a water main break caused the road to just sort of erupt, which we imagine would be a terrifying way to go. Take a look below for the short clip, and then remember this every time you wonder why the news takes water main breaks so seriously.

The ironic part is it looked like he was going to run the red light.

I think you're actually allowed to pull up to the light. Look at the rest of the cars at the intersection and note their position relative to the stoplights at their corners. What if they wanted to make a right turn like the car that barely got away in front of them? Then again, they were going pretty fast if they planned on stopping.

It would be equally as scary here in the US if we all had dash cams. I see some crazy S**T from time to time on my morning commute.

I have a dash cam, and I'm in the US, but I haven't recorded anything interesting yet (and I have it on all the time), but then again I don't live in a major city. The reason I got the dash cam was because I was almost hit and I already wanted one anyway. But nothing crazy so far. I guess if everyone had one then there'd be some good footage.

Great job ripping a comment from Jalopnik for your headline about the same video, Autoblog.

Funny thing is that it was a red light and the guy didn't slow at all or he would have avoided it.
