With the influx of all the new products from Chevrolet this year, Callaway has its hands full trying to keep up. As much as we hope the Callaway Corvette Aerowagon becomes a reality, there's a big soft spot in our hearts for go-fast sedans that's eagerly anticipating the tuner's latest creation, the Callaway SS.

After going to work on the 2014 Chevy SS, Callaway is hoping to get an estimated 570 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque from the sedan's 6.2-liter LS3 V8. That added power, Callaway says, should be enough to shoot from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and tackle the quarter-mile in around 12.4 seconds. The stock LS3, if you're wondering, produces 415 horses and as many pound-feet of twist, so both figures represent very healthy bumps.

The tuning will consist of an Eaton supercharger with intercooler, a freer-flowing exhaust system and an upgraded intake and injectors. The provided image above is simply an altered press photo from Chevy, but we hope that this meaner SS will bring meaner styling.

There is no word on pricing for this Callaway-tuned SS, but we would expect it to start even higher than a factory-tuned high-performance version of the car, which is still a possibility. Scroll down for more the full press release from Callaway.

The Holden-built Chevrolet SS sedans are landing in North America now, so this is the perfect time to place your Callaway SS order. In fact, Callaway and Holden share a unique connection. In 1998, Holden Special Vehicles hired Callaway to design, develop and assemble a high output version of the 285 bhp LS-series engine for the HSV GTS (Project "C13"). Callaway built 1,500 402 bhp engines for the 2000-2002 models which were installed on the Holden assembly line. The HSV GTS became the fastest production car ever produced in Australia at the time.

Callaway SS sedans are built exclusively at Callaway factories in Old Lyme, Connecticut, and Santa Ana, California. They are sold by a network of Callaway Authorized Chevrolet Dealers across the US and Canada. For more Callaway SS information, contact Callaway Cars at 860 434 9002, or email info@callawaycars.com

Extra hp on ugly is just faster ugly. What a real let down. GM has done pretty much everything right lately except this mess.

Meh. If someone wants to say it's a boring design, that's one thing. i don't see how it's an ugly car though. To each his own though.

It's not ugly at all, it's a performance luxury sedan so it's not going to have an all-out sporty look to it. The black and red colors definitely bring it to a whole new level over the boring silver color they keep showing off too. This is one hell of a sleeper car and Callaway just took it to the next level! Hopefully GM starts offering options on this, would love to pick a black one up for around $39k or so without all the extra rainsense wipers, collision avoidance, etc that is not necessary whatsoever.

Tuners slapping superchargers on LS engines does not excite me.

It's not the HP that doesn't excite me. It's the fact that anyone can put an over the counter blower kit on their LS engine and make great power. Callaway should do something unique with it to make power.

While simply referring to Callaway as a "tuner" is a slap in the face, I get what you're trying to say. With the right combination of parts, you can make pretty much whatever power figure you want with an LS engine. So when Callaway says the new SS (with an engine everyone has already tuned) will make 570hp...it's no big deal. But Callaway's quality, long standing relationship with GM and their products, along with their warranty, automatically elevate their SS beyond simply being a tuner car.

Reeves Callaway is not just any tuner, and this is not just some bolt-on affair...I'm sure he'll devote the same amount of engineering to this as he does to his Corvettes. Sure, there are other ways to develop meaningful increases in power besides putting a blower on it, but those options would be even more costly. And "Callaway" and "affordable" are rarely used in the same sentence.

Many of us G8 guys are getting MUCH more than that at the wheels with a Maggie or ProCharger on the 6L block.

Yawn. Come to Australia and you can just walk in to a dealer and get the HSV GT-S, 6hp and 10ft-lb more BEFORE the tuning houses even start.

I can't figure out how GM came up with this name. SS is a package, not a complete car. It is the dumbest marketing move ever. Bravo GM, fresh off a bailout and a "management change." Translation: "we took the bailout and kept everyone and everything in place EXCEPT for our debt and contracts with suppliers, pensioners and bondholders." Also, the SS is too expensive and boring to look at. Even this.
