Eleven bikers have been charged with fourteen separate counts, including assault, criminal mischief and rioting, for chasing a family's black Range Rover in New York. The incident garnered national attention after a video surfaced online showing the gang of bikers surrounding the SUV, slamming against the window, dragging the male driver out and beating him. The bikers were allegedly retaliating after the driver mowed over one of the riders in attempt to get away safely.

One of the accused bikers is a 32-year-old undercover New York police officer. Additional video is reportedly available, which could either result in additional charges or clear the names of some of the bikers involved. Scroll down for a few video reports on the incident.

I gotta tell you all, I've been riding motorcycles my whole life, I ride with groups from time to time as well. But I pick people who ride like adults. At the heart of this, is the idea that when you're on a motorcycle, the rules don't apply to you. You don't need to show a license plate, you can spread out and take over the road to do stunts, etc. This behavior is KILLING the reputation of adult motorcyclists all over the US. While I have seen many an SUV swerve into a bikers path and generally act like a moron, the point is that adults know to let it go. Children stalk and put themselves in grave danger to prove a point. These bikers were all children, and the reality is if I was in the SUV and some guy bum rushes my car and tries to open the door with my family inside, I need to do something NOW and the only logical thing to do is flee. So sorry if you think I'm a traitor to bikers...in reality children on 1000cc racetrack bikes pulling stunts and weaving in traffic are traitors to my lifestyle and love of motorcycles. I've raced motorcycles on a track, so I assure you I'm not saying this because I don't like high performance motorcycles. If you love them like I do, then hit a track, get some instruction and learn how to enjoy performance motorcycling in a form that doesn't cause mayhem on the streets. When you're on the street you are in mixed company and there are rules that need to adhered to. Don't pass on the right, don't speed (excessively) and respect everyone on the road, and most of all, when someone does something that pisses you off...LET IT GO and be the adult.

Bunch of douchebag cyclists, it does not matter if these were a gang of aggressive car drivers brake checking and disrupting traffic. These people don't deserve to be on our public roads.

It's funny how these imbecile thugs, who were caught in the video doing the hot pursuit, trying to force open the suv door and then banging on the windows are now claiming they were just trying to save Mr. Lien's life. Unbelievable. The 32-year old disgraced undercover cop now claimed he was shouting at the hooligan riders to stop the attack on the suv driver. Who are you fooling? Yeah right, the good Samaritan, who wasn't even a cop, didn't even have to shout or do banging or anything. All he did was simply stepped in between the verocious criminal riders and the severely beaten Mr. Lien and said, "That's it, it's enough".

Yes. They should also be charged with RICO violations. Biker gangs are clearly organized criminals.

The older this story gets and pops up on Autoblog from time to time, the more there are going to be idiots who just read about it right now and have no clue about the backstory, only skimming this from the outside, concluding that both parties are to blame in their misguided arrogant sense of righteousness. Yes, I'm talking about the Arturo Rios Jrs., the Sadly Disappointeds, the Mercers, and surely there will be more to follow. To future potential idiots: watch the videos first, read the articles first, do some research, THEN decide if you want to post something stupid or not.

Lol. You must be the biggest cock I have ever seen. I am not saying who is right or wrong. But the reality is if you got into an accident and running someone over, there will be legal consequences. I am just saying that, without the subsequent beating, the man would be financially crippled by legal fees and medical bills for the guy now crippled. His life would be ruined because this is how American justice system work.

Bullshit. The DA already said the SUV driver wouldn't have been charged, because it was self-defense because he and his family were being threatened. There's not a jury in NY that would award that biker damages with all the info of their previous illegal actions that's been found. He made the wrong choice and he screwed himself. The end.

I'm sure you're an expert on cocks, Mercer. Back to the point... Read my other post below. The numerous 911 calls from Mr. Lien's wife provide enough evidence to paint a clear picture of what was happening. I'm sure she didn't call 911 to ask how the operator's day was going. Everything is documented in the audio recordings. Also, if you've been reading the articles or watching the news clips - which I'm sure you haven't - the police chief himself stated in an interview that that was NOT an "accident" but a blatant attempt by the biker in front of the SUV to brake-check and intentionally cause an incident. That's why he was the first person the police wanted to pursue when this whole thing blew up.

These DB's deserve everything they're about to get. I love how the story is changing now. "I was telling them to stop" and "My client was actually trying to stop them from assaulting the driver". Sure... Tell it to the jury, bub. I hope they make an example outta these thugs and hang em out to dry...

I heard Land Rover is going to add a dedicated "biker gang" off-road setting for incidents just like this in the future.

The fact that these motorcycle riders tried to stop a 2.5 ton vehicle baffles me. RETARDED is the only thing I can think of. I stay away from ALL 4 wheeled vehicles when I ride. And riding 3 bikes side by side is RETARDED too. I ride 1 bike per lane staggered with the bike in front.

I wonder if the driver of the SUV felt anything as he was driving over the biker? Those air suspensions are pretty nice.

Range Rover's definitely have the most intelligent pre-collision avoidance system. The system is so advanced that when a mob of punks decides to attack the Range Rover, the pre-collision avoidance system automatically shuts down and lets the driver run the punks right over...
