We're currently in Seoul, South Korea, checking in on the 2015 Hyundai Genesis at the automaker's headquarters. We can't yet offer any driving impressions, but at least we can share a few renderings of what the new sedan will look like.

As you can see, practically everything above the beltline has been carried over almost untouched from the HCD-14 Genesis Concept we saw earlier this year. The front-end styling, on the other hand, is a complete departure from current Hyundai design language. Note the large, upright grille and the more dynamic headlights and fascia.

There's still no word as to when Hyundai will officially debut the 2015 Genesis, but it won't be a long wait.
UPDATE: As we already knew – but it slipped our mind – the 2015 Genesis will be unveiled in January at the Detroit Auto Show.

Looks really good to me. Nice option for the people who don't care about the badge on the front. I'd certainly drive one. The way I see if, with all the people blindly hating on Hyundai no matter what they do that to me means they're doing something right. People wouldn't bother if they made genuine garbage.

179 comments, I think that says a lot. P.S. I'm getting a huge kick out of reading all of these rip off comments, especially the ones about mimicking the Fusion, hypocritical much? The thing is as original as a $20 Rolex.

I like what I see so far, but what I am really anxious to see is the 2015 Coupe. And maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself here, but it would be nice if they could drop that 5.0 V8 in a variant of the Coupe model. It would be kind of unique in just such a car. My gut tells me that it probably won't happen though.

Great looking car and I will happily move out of my Azera and into this as my next car. I have been very happy with everything about my Azera except the suspension so I hope ride quality is improved and if so they will have my money.

I... I... (SMH) I don't think it's a bad looking car. I have to be honest. I'd love to crack a "cheap" joke, but if I were in the market for a car in this style and price range I'd give it an honest look at a dealership.

Credit the designers at the mass market major automakers or maybe it's the laws of aerodynamics or maybe it's other regulatory requirements. Whatever it is. The best designs from Ford, Mazda, Kia, etc. really look just as special as the luxury brands.

Where are you getting the idea that this looks like a Mazda 6? I don't see anything substantially Mazda-like at all

Hmm, I have 2 eyes, a brain and Google to pull up an image of the Mazda 6 and could see that the 2 cars look alike. Where are you getting the idea that the 2 cars don't look anything alike?

Please enlighten me, explain how you see brand insecurity from these comments because I just see people expressing their opinions, you know, just like you are with that lame ass comment.

If this is what it comes out looking like, holy **** Hyundai isn't playing games anymore. I admire their ability to improve and learn quickly. Meanwhile we have names like Lincoln that can't even keep pace with Acura.....
