Following reports from last week that a refreshed Lexus CT 200h would arrive in dealers for the 2014 model year, we've gotten our first glimpse of what said refresh entails, and well, at first glance, it's not much. Lexus has fitted its familial spindle-style grille and a new set of headlamps to the hybridized hatchback.

Out back, the CT 200h has gotten a set of slightly slimmer taillights, while the F-Sport model shown here sports a revised rear bumper, with what looks like a subtle diffuser and some vertical vents. All told, the exterior refinements are nice, if not subtle, additions to the five-door hatchback.

It's unclear if anything has changed inside the CT 200h, although we'd expect a similarly light refreshening in line with what's been done outside. As for the hybrid powertrain, we wouldn't expect a wholesale change in that department – at least until the next-generation CT arrives around 2016.

Take a look up top for the complete gallery of the refreshed CT 200h, then let us know what you think of the design changes in Comments.

I rather like how the lower chrome surround of the grille rides outboard from the edge, rather than completely framing it. Nice touch that adds interest.

What I noticed is that Lexus has a different take on the spindle grill on EACH model. I think thats cool they do that instead of making them all look the same

I think the grille on the CT is how it should be done. It doesn't scream grille, but it just accents it. It's nice.

This thing needs a conventional motor and a turbo. However, I'm sure that would attract the kind of customer that Lexus doesn't want. This thing would be pretty damn awesome if it was a Lexus CT200t with 250+ HP.

The kind of customers that wear flat bill caps, black socks with canvas shoes, and put "illest" and "shocker symbol" decals all over their cars?

Every sticker adds 5hp, didn't you know that?

sure glad they taped over the Lexus logo and the hybrid badge. Im sure thats the only thing that would have clued us in to what this mystery car is.

A fast version of the CT would be nice given its sporty look, but under the Lexus badge it would make the already pricey snail and dressed up F sporty too expensive for fans of hot hatches.

The original front-end styling theme was much more subdued, with the bumper splitting the grill from the lower intake. It did not have a continuous, overweight spindle visual form: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/geneva-2010-lexus-ct-200h-live/#photo-304505

You would edit out the faces of the people in the pictures, but not the license plate of the red car?

Camry Hybrid motor please :) 200hp AND 40mpg combined. If that happens - where do I sign? It would put the 0-60 in the mid 6's (maybe 6.5-6.8 ish) since it does 7.2 in a much larger and heavier Camry Hybrid. The 1.8liter can easily be swapped out for the 2.4 liter. (They swap the 1.8 and the 2.4 standard engines in the Corolla and Matrix so it can't be that much different). Also, Lexus, give this thing a SLIGHTLY upgraded electric engine from the Camry so it gets maybe 15more hp. Then put LI-ion batteries instead so they are smaller and you can put about 10% more battery. Obviously there is plenty of room in the money since the Camry starts about $6,000 less. You can't tell me a smaller car with a bit more interior quality truly costs $6,000 more.

Your asking for Lexus to turn CT into a hot hatch?

Now all they need is to have it in that baby pee yellow and it can outright win the ugliest car title.

Its overpriced, under performs, and is a decent hybrid. F Sport is simply a dressed up CT, nothing but facade styling with a hefty price tag.
