Some say that the red ring of death is what he calls his belly button, and that in a past life, he was the dog from Duck Hunt. All we know is, he's not The Stig, but he is the Stig's digital cousin, and for the first time ever, you'll be able to race him.

That's right, as part of Forza Motorsport's tie-up with Top Gear, which began in Forza Motorsport 4 with Jeremy Clarkson's voiceovers, gamers will actually be able to race Digital Stig in the latest installment of the franchise. Top Gear's commercial director, Duncan Gray, had this to say about FM5's newest features, "Trying to beat The Stig on track has long been the petrol-fuelled dreams of Top Gear fans everywhere and whilst Jeremy and the team did not want to frustrate or embarrass gamers by putting forward the real Stig, they did help us track down a potentially more fallible relative of their tame racing driver."

In addition to Digital Stig, gamers will have access to the Top Gear Test Track, and will be treated to voiceovers throughout the game by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. To promote the Digital Stig's inclusion in Forza Motorsport 5, Turn 10 Studios put together a little driving vid, the tame racing driver behind the wheel of the XBox One V8 Supercar, ahead of its race at this weekend's Bathurst 1000, in Australia. Forza Motorsport 5 will be in stores on November 22, and will only be available on the XBox One Take a look below for the full video.

SOME SAY THIS ONE CAN ACTUALLY BE BEATEN - TOP GEAR RELEASES THE STIG'S DIGITAL COUSIN

BBC Worldwide and Xbox collaborate to produce a Digital Cousin for The Stig, making his debut in Forza Motorsport 5 for the new Xbox One on November 22nd.

Frustrated petrol-heads and gamers everywhere will be donning their virtual crash helmets in anticipation of the imminent release of "Forza Motorsport 5" where they will have the first opportunity ever to try and beat the BBC motoring entertainment TV show's white-suited test driver The Stig – albeit his Digital Cousin.

In an exclusive new video released today by BBC Worldwide, the tame racing driver's digital counterpart can be seen clocking up some perfect lap times around a test track, while the Xbox One Racing Team V8 Supercar crew are unawares. Unlike the real-life Stig however, it's rumoured that for the very first time ever this will be a more fallible Stig - and one that can be beaten - but only if you're really good! Players will be able to test themselves against him in "Forza Motorsport 5", coming exclusively to Xbox One this November 22nd.

The video is launched ahead of the annual Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 car race taking place this Sunday at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The car featured in the video being driven by The Stig's Digital Cousin is the Holden Xbox One Racing Team car which will be driven by Britain's Andy Prilaux, three-time WTCC winner and Bathurst veteran, and Sweden's Mattias Ekstrom in this weekend's race.

Duncan Gray, Top Gear's Commercial Director at BBC Worldwide says: "Trying to beat The Stig on track has long been the petrol-fuelled dreams of Top Gear fans everywhere and whilst Jeremy and the team did not want to frustrate or embarrass gamers by putting forward the real Stig, they did help us track down a potentially more fallible relative of their tame racing driver."

Dan Greenawalt, creative director on "Forza Motorsport 5", said "The partnership between Forza Motorsport and Top Gear has featured many highlights over the years. Including The Stig's digital cousin in the game is a natural extension of that creative partnership. Now, on top of racing against the best virtual drivers in the world online or against brand new cloud-powered Drivatar opponents in career mode, players can tackle the digital cousin of one of the world's most celebrated racing icons.

In "Forza Motorsport 5", players will be able to experience Top Gear in numerous ways throughout the game. Players will be able to race the Top Gear test track – every corner from Hammerhead to Gambon meticulously recreated with unprecedented accuracy. An all-new Career Mode will feature events and opponents that are true to each car's automotive heritage. "Forza Motorsport 5" career events are organized by car genre – including vintage cars, sports compacts, grand touring, exotics and more. Jeremy, James, and Richard will be on hand, providing their unique perspective through voiceovers on the collection of cars featured in the career mode events.

        @Lachmund
        Forza is being completely sponsored by Top Gear and is packed with Top Gear content so of course this is the "real" Stig. You disrespect anyone that buys a Xbox One? How immature are you?

          @Lachmund Is this a joke? For one the PS4 isn't even close to 50% more powerful this is just some made up propaganda crap. Also what Microsoft did how about how Sony has lied and deceived everyone on every turn? How about when they announced a PSN+ multiplayer paywall with a text slide as everyone cheered and quickly switched and didn't even comment on it? How about how no 3rd party headset is going to even work with the PS4 at launch yet they've lead everyone to believe it will? How about them claiming Killzone SF has dedicated servers when it's really P2P with matchmaking servers? How about Sony lying since E3 saying they were never going to have the Camera and $500 price tag yet came out recently saying they in fact are? How about Sony losing all their customers information to hackers and have a shutdown online service for a month? How about all the YLODs that cost $100+ to fix when Microsoft fixed RRODs for free? Sure go ahead and continue your delusional state of thinking Sony is some kind of angel as they continue to lie to you with a smile on their faces. Microsoft listened to the community and decided to go against their original plans that were way ahead of their time to work as of right now. How about I can't respect a person that will ignore a company that continues to lie to your directly in your face? Microsoft might've messed up badly but at least they were truthful and upfront about it.

          the stig now is someone else. ben collins doesn't work for top gear anymore. after everything that microsoft tried to **** their customers with their clearly inferior machine (the ps4 is 50%! more powerful), I clearly can't have any respect for anyone who doesn't care. sorry.

          sorry but you are clearly badly informed. the whole industry has confirmed that already not even talking about the majority of consumers and developers. buy the xbox but don't say i didn't warn you.

      They should have a Stig/Top Gear car's skins for whatever classes to compete in. If you beat him, then you'll have exclusive access to that car skins. I have a feeling that this Stig/Top Gear skins will be very very rare.

        That idea most likely wouldn't work...people could just go and recreate that "exclusive" skin in the game's livery editor.

      So, it's going to be wheel to wheel against the stig or lap times? You can already (and people do) race against Top Gear Stig times in GT5, at the Top Tear Test Track. The Stig outfit is also DLC.

        This isn't just racing against his lap times, the "drivatar" will actually drive like the real Stig and you'll be able to race against him.
