BMW will be launching the 4 Series Convertible at November's Los Angeles Auto Show, which makes mid-October kind of the perfect point for leaked images to start showing up. Here, we have what appears to be the new droptop, alongside its hard-topped brethren, in what looks like an accessories brochure. We've seen spy shots of the new member of the growing 4 Series family, but this is our first look sans camo.

The images, which first showed up on BMW Blog, show that outside of it being a convertible, the styling of the car is pretty much identical to the 4 Series Coupe, which is to be expected. That similarity should also carry into the car's oily bits, where we'll see the same range of turbocharged engines found in the hardtop model - a 240-horsepower four-pot and a 300-horsepower six-cylinder, mated up to the buyer's choice of an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Unlike the Coupe, we don't expect the convertible to be available with xDrive all-wheel drive, at least not initially. Like the current 3 Series Convertible, we expect the 4 to arrive with a folding hardtop rather than a canvas roof.

We'll have full details on the new 4 Series Convertible in just over a month, when it debuts at the 2013 LA Auto Show.

I drive around with a roof box half the time and often have a bike rack on the back of my car. But I don't know if this is the look I'd be going for in promotional materials. When you're trying to get someone to consider buying a coupe or convertible why would you choose to clutter up the sexy profile with those accessories and why would you want to drive home the impractical nature of the bodystyle.

Just not a fan of the new 3/4 series design refresh.. The front end is horrible, and those side vents belong on a 1999 Civic in F&TF!

That mountain bike looks more interesting than the car itself.

Awesome! It looks like the 4 Series coupe without the roof. Who'd have thought????

The 4 series is just so dull looking. By giving the coupe & convertible a different model designation, BMW had the option to do something more with it, and they didn't take it. Perhaps they didn't want to steal sales from the 6 series?
