Following the reveal of the new GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, the next in line is Cadillac, which is set to unveil the new Escalade on October 7 in New York. And in the lead-up to the reveal, the company has released this third teaser image, giving us a good glimpse of the 'Slade's interior.

Or part of the interior, we should say, because while the image above clearly shows the new dashboard and center console, as well as parts of the front seats and interior door panels, the Escalade is most certainly not a two-seat coupe. The outgoing Escalade can accommodate up to eight in either standard or ESV form (but not in EXT pickup configuration), and the new model promises to deliver the same, and we're curious to see what Cadillac has in store for the rear passenger compartment.

Compared to its more accessible counterparts, the new Escalade clearly offers a more upscale environment than even the uplevel Yukon Denali, with softer-looking leather, richer wood veneer and a waterfall center infotainment console that's different from the more modular design in the Chevy and GMC. The steering wheel is also unique and the instrument cluster appears to meld more smoothly across the dashboard, but the door mirrors, wide center armrest, column shifter and A-pillar grab handle all look like they were carried over from the Escalade's platform mates.

Head on down below for the brief announcement and watch this space for more, as the Escalade's full reveal is just less than a week away.

Craftsmanship and Technology Merge in 2015 Cadillac Escalade
New level of luxury for brand's flagship SUV
2013-10-01

DETROIT – The 2015 Escalade will advance to a higher level in all aspects, but the greatest changes to Cadillac's flagship SUV are on the inside.

The all-new interior combines luxurious handcrafted elements with state-of-the-art advanced technology. The new design takes advantage of Cadillac's cut-and-sew interior craftsmanship technique, enabling precisely elegant surfacing of the instrument panel and door areas.

Advanced technical features and controls are designed to add a boldly modern element to the design, as well as offering the latest features in luxury, connectivity and safety for up to eight occupants.

Cadillac will reveal the 2015 Escalade in New York City on October 7 along with a portrait series and behind-the-scenes video by indie artist Autumn de Wilde.

I don't like the huge column shifter. I know MB is moving this way but at least theirs looks elegant. This looks like it belongs in the 90s. Other than that, It looks good.

The shifter should have been sleeker or electronic. It does look outdated but still better cause if it was a console shifter the escalade would be 100% identical to xts cts etc.   also is there no wood around the steering wheel ... At all? Not even in top trim model?

I see the points being made about the cheap looking column shifter in an otherwise nicely done dash layout . Mercedes tried that a few years back and I think they changed it quickly. I hope the Escalade will get the configurable instrument cluster like the CTS and ia V sport model with the supercharged 6.3 .

I guess the truth hurts, as shown by the down voting. But you're 100% correct. This vehicle is ridiculous, and given the amount of money this giant turd costs, there are so many other (better) options.

Absolute American garbage. Please keep this garbage inside the United States, cause the rest of the world doesn't need it.

Where is the gun holder and storage for cocaine or any other drugs that will be dealt from that SUV?

It looks nice, but where in the world are future defaulting lease-holders going to put their purple drank?

HAHA so funny. "Purple Drank" you are hilarious. Is that your joke or did you hear it at the last Klan rally?

All jokes aside, most Escalades are bought by well off soccer moms. So, nice try...

In a truck or SUV I'd rather have a column shifter. You don't need to shift much and it takes up precious space around the console.

Agreed. I think that were it not stealing, Lincoln's push-button options or a knob similar to Ram's would look much more at home in this cabin

On the 2014 Ram, I've seen pictures of it with and without the column shifter. Is this a two vs. four wheel drive option?

Agree. Only pickups and vehicles without a center console should have a column shift.
