Upon stumbling on a Blackhawk helicopter illegally parked in the street, this officer did the only thing he could: he wrote the pilot a ticket. It seems the pilot had "Parked in a no-parking zone" and had "Parked facing the wrong way." A double whammy, then.

Looks like at least one police officer in Colorado has a sense of humor, even in the face of disastrous conditions – if you look closely, you'll see that no section codes for the violation are listed, and there's no court date. In other words, it was just a joke, and a good one at that.

Check out the original post from Reddit for all the assorted commentary for a good laugh or two.

Oh, you mean the cops that are only minutes or hours away when seconds count? Or the ones that take out poor kids in NC? Yeah, I really need the cops on my side.

Not really that funny, considering the people that are suffering in Colorado. Crappy fake picture too!

Seriously, guys, if you are really upset about this, you need to settle down. Period. For realz. Cops working these kinds of assignments aren't always running 100mph door-to-door, breathlessly rescuing people. A lot of times they are stuck in a stationary assignment. Abusive idiots are screaming vulgarities at them because they won't let them up the road. They might be really worried about their own house or family. They probably haven't been relieved in hours to take a leak, but if they step off the road for a second, it's guaranteed that some idiot will drive past them and get himself killed in the flood waters. If they aren't in a stationary assignment, for every couple people who are super grateful and compliant with reasonable orders to avoid their own death, there will be a person or two who wastes the cop's time screaming about their rights, this, that, and the other. In other words, times like this are beyond stressful - they are alternately stressful, boring, terrifying (have you ever put yourself in a canyon with rising flood waters to save another person's life, Brandon?). There is very little enjoyment to be had at all, at any time. So a Blackhawk sets down on this road, and this cop writes a single joking parking ticket. It's his way of having a bit of fun with the National Guard guys. A little laugh, and as you can see from the photos, it's not like the parking ticket prevented them from a rescue. If you are upset that he is "wasting resources", do a ride along, and see how often the citizens waste police resources, with fake suicide calls, children they can't control on their own, vehicle collisions that NEVER should have happened, and more. In the meantime, the reasonable people will be over here chuckling at this guy's ticket.

Yeah ok. I think you need to research a bit more before making incorrect statements so confidently. I applaud your inability to spot the tandem rotor (four blades) configuration of the Blackhawk vs the single rotor (two blades) Huey. *clapclapclap*

Hope he wrote a beer invite on the back of the ticket. After the all the crap they've been through in the past week, everyone needs to split a few pitchers to wind down. Preferably with a Mon Night Football game with Peyton and the Broncos.
