As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.

While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.

copilot was just heard saying "hard right into the drink" Im sure this was a case of bad course notes or bad reading of course notes. He came in too hot, locked up that brakes and there you have it

Had no idea the car would end up in the water when I started watching this... immediately I thought "get em out! Underwater!" and.... people just laugh and keep rolling video? Seriously?!

I love the way the guys watching the car fly into the water just stand there and one checking his phone like nothing happened.. And like others have stated the wheel must be rolling to have steering..

It\'s not really very bizarre. He just misjudged the corner and locked up his brakes, and because he doesn\'t have ABS he couldn\'t steer. The young ones on this board don\'t know what that looks like. Well, it looks like this and I\'ve done it before on pre-ABS cars and it\'s no fun.

Yup, i bet half the guys here would crap their pants if they locked up the brakes near a turn without abs.

i just wonder why the guy standing in the end shot, just closes his (phone?) and looks away..doesn't he realize the driver is underwater?

You can see that he locked up the wheels, then tried to steer. Plowed straight ahead. Just a plain mistake.

It is hard to believe that only one person thought to go see if he could help the driver get the navigator/co-driver (or vice versa) out of the car. It was half submerged in water and the second person could have been belted in and drowning. That was just odd.

The guys laughing (at all) while this is going on are @$$hats. They could have been killed or seriously injured, perhaps even drowning at that point and instead are filming it and laughing.
