Not to be left out of the recent green car parades going on around the glove – the 260.5-EV record in Norway or the Audi TDI "Truth In 48" drive, for example – Tesla is readying a flock of Model S and Roadster EVs for a 100-car parade later today. Called Tour de Tesla (as well as Tesla Run) the event starts a 9 a.m. in Hawthorne, CA and will rally 50 miles to The Petersen Automotive Museum for a rooftop group photo.

The event organizers have been busy for the past month getting things like a police escort and a Tesla souvenir gift bag ready. Of course, since participating costs $75 per car, it's not like those goodies are exactly free. And sure, we know that getting 100 electric vehicles together will not be noteworthy some day. But this event, which has company support, shows us once again that there is something in the water when it comes to drivers showing off their green cars. We assume this will be on full display over on the Tesla Run Instagram and Facebook pages once the cars get together.
