Volvo has released a short teaser video for a concept car that will be unveiled on August 29 ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show. At first glance, it would appear to be nothing more than a few sketches and some words from Volvo design boss Thomas Ingenlath, but at about the 11-second mark, four images are flashed on the screen revealing the true nature of the video – the Volvo Concept C Coupe.

As Inglenlath suggests in the video, this new concept is designed to help bring more excitement to the brand's lineup, and from what we can tell in these strategically captured shots, the company is definitely on to something. While we don't get too much of look from any one angle, the front reveals what appears to be a concave version of Volvo's signature grille and the side shows off a stylish greenhouse. We have to wonder, do these images confirm the identity of the mystery concept car that's been floating around the Internet this week? In either case, our favorite view is perhaps the rear shot giving us a glimpse of the car's name as well as its flat, wide haunches and C-shaped taillights.

Scroll down to watch the whole video, and if you don't have a trigger-quick mouse finger, don't worry. We made a gallery of screen shots showing the four embedded images.

This is very interesting, I wasn't really liking where Volvo was heading with the overly swoopy and soft lines on current models like the S60, but the sharp creases and clean expanses of sheet metal here seem very striking and powerful while still being restrained. Very interested to see the entire design.

I see P1800 e all over this. Concave grill of the 1970, badge placement, 3/4 view, c-pillar back. These are all really good things. I bet that this is going to be a really pretty car.

How are you doubting it's the mystery car floating around? It's 100% the same, compare the photos.

What's this? Volvo is getting funky in the design studio? I like where this is going.

I do understand that people will rarely look at a Volvo product and say "wow", however I don't think that any of us who actually buy their products buy it for that reason anyway. I find their appearance classic, understated, and quite timeless. I still find the current S80 a fine looking car, also, when replacing one of my cars I went out of my way to get an 07 XC70 simply because I like the look... it's iconic IMHO. So I think it's very plausible that Volvo can come out with another dramatic, yet timeless design... looking forward to it actually. These teaser shots point to a very attractive design.

I love Volvo. But there's a ton of crap going on in these picts, which worries me. We'll see though. Right now, it looks like a nicer Subaru GoBot.. which isn't saying a lot.

Minimal views here, but already can see glimpses of the A7 in the rear and the A5 in the profile, though appears to be slinkier than both. Hopefully, it'll be a successful design for Volvo and can be applied to future production cars. Whatever happened to this? http://www.volvocars.com/us/top/about/conceptcars-futurevehicles/Pages/default.aspx http://www.jcars.org/volvo-concept-you-side-view-2011-frankfurt-motor-show/volvo-concept-you-side-view-2011-frankfurt-motor-show-2/ http://www.jcars.org/volvo-concept-you-photo-1/volvo-concept-you-photo-1-2/

Unfortunately Volvo is now Chinese, so you can expect this car to be a total rip-off of what already appears like Audi, BMW and even Camaro or Charger.

How you manage to compare a Volvo to the Camaro or a Charger is hilarious.
