As it turns out, there might just be more than three lucky souls on the planet who will be able to claim ownership of a Lamborghini Veneno. While Lamborghini still plans to make triplets out of the winged and vented hypercar, we hear that there is a Veneno Roadster in the works.

Early yesterday, our own Matt Davis caught wind of an open-top Veneno, but Car and Driver has some more details about the car. The article says that a total of nine Veneno Roadsters could be built with each carrying a price tag of around $4.4 million US. If you're keeping track at home, that's a premium of a cool half-million bucks to get the Veneno to go topless, and with all three of the coupes already accounted for, we're sure Lamborghini won't have a hard time unloading the Roadsters.

There is no additional information about the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, but if we had to guess, we'd figure it will likely use some lightweight removable roof panels like the Aventador Roadster.

That may be the most overwrought front end in the history of the industry.

Does anyone else get the impression that if Lamborghini wasn\'t an established brand cars like this would be the laughing stock of the industry? http://www.autoblog.com/photos/lamborghini-veneno-monterey-2013/#photo-826127/ Looks straight out of a Japanese comic book. This company produced the Miura and the 350 and 400.

Looks like a movie prop. Just way too much going on for me, Lambo needs to go back and simplify their designs a bit.

I've read people say the new Corvette is garish. I fully agree appreciation of a cars appearance is purely subjective, but to use Arnold's line from Predator... Veneno, you are one ugly muther #$%%$

If they only built 3 of these, how limited can the cabrio be? 1 whole car and 1 partial? Or maybe the buyers who missed out on this car want to be LOOKED AT as the drive through Monaco so they will built 1500 of the open top version.

That's unfortunate. Of the big three hyper car reveals recently, this is by far the worst. This makes even the LaFerrari look good(it's growing on me).

I am with you, they are know to be over the top, but I am afraid they are getting into the ugly and pointless category. There is way too much going on in the design it is almost like a transformer aka kiddish!

this isn't a hyper car though. this is just a reskinned and very exclusive aventador.

This is far, FAR from the old designs Lamborghini used to have. I remember seeing one of their tractors and was blown away :P But seriously, they need to take a step back and go back to their roots. Less influence from whatever the heck this came from and more influence from a bottle of red, prosciutto and cheese!
