Galpin's monstrous GTR1 has made its official debut, and now we have live images to go along with the 1,197-horsepower (when fed 100-octane fuel) rocket. Taking a look at the GTR1 outside of the studio, it's interesting to see how different it looks.

The exterior isn't so familiar when shown in natural light. The studio shots make the design seem overly influenced by the Ford GT and Shelby GR-1. There are still nods to those designs, but we're certainly more enamored with the finished product. Be sure to take a look at the full gallery, and let us know what you think of the GTR1, in the Comments.

Wait a second here: say I got a second (or third? it's been 8 years after all) hand GT for $ 250.000. Now I should spend $ 750.000 for an anonymous bodywork, basically the same interior, and some tuning parts bolted on? I'm missing something here. How about I get said GT, a Carrera GT, and SLR and some other toys for the same money? If not a new Huayra, or the LALALALAFerrari, or probably two 918, etc etc. Just give me one reason worth listening. It doesn't seem to be as special as those mad creation by Brabus, the C Class with the V12 biturbo engine and so on. This is just a rip off, stick with Pimp my Ride I guess.

Geez, taking a half inch Hole Saw to the seats & floorboard is for what ? Passing methane gas to the fuel tank while filling up at Taco Bell ? I hope there is a much better explanation ! I like the exterior of the older Ford GT better. Those HUGE Chrome wheels on a car like this, OMG ! Snoop Dog blinging the ride ? Hit one pot hole there goes 1 Grand !

Why would you kill a Ford GT for this and get a worst car for more money? Just build and turbocharge the Ford GT to get at the same power figure for far less money.

sorry, not sold, who is going to pony up 1 mill for a car with no history, zero racing credentials, is manufactured by a pretty much unknown entity with zero track record, when theres choices such as Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, Pagani, hell, I could even mention Saleen as having more street cred, let alone desirability.....thsi to me smacks of someones own ego gone awry....probably awesome, but come on galpin, lets not get carried away....

Looks like a kit car, and not a very well made one.

Odd proportions after the cabin. The tail seems overly large, long and drawn out. Front seems "clinical", lacks "personality". Love the interior color, though.

That's a bit more than a head nod to the GT. That's a full-on brain rattler. This should be shown at the Concours d'Vladivostok.

Don't really like this. It's a freak show. You either redesign and build a modern version of the rear-mid engine Ford GT (could be a next generation concept) or you redesign and build the production version of the front-mid engine GR1 concept, but you should never combine the both. God that's hideous.
