Cadillac will unveil the next Escalade in October, at an event in New York City. It will be the sole member of GM's large SUV family to not get a debut at the Texas State Fair, which we don't think is all that surprising, considering the kind of clientele attracted by the big Caddy.

The new truck, from the few teaser images and spy shots we've seen, has evolved with the rest of the Cadillac range. We've got a glimpse of its tall, thin headlights, which look like an evolution of what's on the current truck. Expect some kind of egg-crate grille, reminiscent of the new CTS and ATS, while Cadillac's CUE system should feature heavily in what we hope is a thoroughly revised cabin.

The event takes place on October 7, so check back then for more info on the all-new Escalade.

This is the Cadillac S-Class. This thing needs to be a home run. I'm really hoping that they've done it and pushed this thing to be the best luxury truck possible while still serving the towing duties expected of it.

Will it be all NA V8s on the new large GM trucks or are we going to see TTV6 or Supercharged V8s etc? Also, hopefully there is a better transmission option? Good for power delivery and fuel efficiency - both.

If they can pull off 420 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque from the 6.2L V8 and get 20 mpg with AWD, manage at least 9,000 pounds towing capacity, pull a Lexus GX and switch flat folding third seats with the solid rear axle, which you can see it still has, then you'd have pretty awesome Escalade. Hopefully they will get rid of the cheap plastics that lingered on into the last generation.

I keep seeing on Cadillac's Facebook page that they are unveiling a new concept car tomorrow night, but Autoblog hasn't said anything about it yet. Wonder if it's going to be what the new flagship car will be based off of.

Are you for real? May I ask what you drive, and what you would consider educated luxury?

MB's, BMW's, Land Rovers. Their suvs aren't a super high trim level of a Chevy.

Escalade - a dream car for those who equate big and shiny to high class and luxury. Vulgar chromed 4-wheeled shed for simple people with money.

I hope the Escalade ditches the whole urban image like the rest of Cadillac has been doing lately. It should not be a novelty act, time to grow up and appeal to people that actually want a luxury SUV not just for the "biling" factor but the prestige.

so if black people drive it's bad? And if the custom market, dominated by white owners mind you, see fit to offer aftermarket accessories that's also bad?

And plenty of people who actually want luxury SUV's buy them. I love how you go to one area, see a bunch of "urban" people driving them, and that just casts a blanket over the entire demographic who buy them. I see plenty of "urban" people driving far more expensive and prestigious cars, too. In my area, the only people in the demographic people want to associate with it driving them are driving older ones. Most new ones I seen are actually driven by business professionals or rich soccer moms. Not rappers and drug dealers.

Agreed, they really need to step far far away from the CUSTOM rims and stereos. Seems like they are doing a lot better on the refinement level, hope this plays true to the Escalade.

Too bad Speed is going away, Unique Whips would've been back with an all new season of wooden speaker frames, CUSTOM wheels and done' up interior (cheaper colored leather and some fake gucci printed door panels or something)

Because the majority of people that buy them are white. You don't see rap artist or the Chinese being given credit for the sales of RR's or Bentley's do you?
