The Acura NSX Concept made our list of the "Five Future Green Cars We're Most Excited For" back in 2012. To think that was before we saw these teaser videos of the rip-roaring hybrid supercar:

Acura posted the above video clips of the NSX Prototype to popular social media sites Vine and Instagram earlier this week. While the blue blur shown in the clips is, by name, a prototype, Acura says the car is powered by "the production vehicle's mid-mounted V6 engine mated to Acura's innovative new three-motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system." The NSX's unique Sport Hybrid system makes use of no less than three electric motors, which combine with the V6 engine to deliver "performance equivalent to that of a V8 engine with fuel economy better than that of an inline 4-cylinder engine," according to Acura.

The Acura NSX prototype is scheduled to make a public appearance at Mid-Ohio Raceway on August 4th for the Honda Indy 200. If all goes according to plan, Acura will build the production version of the NSX in nearby Marysville, Ohio in 2015. [Source: Autoblog]

Its amazing how Acura can design and build this super car, yet can't seem to muster the energy to do the same thing with their luxury cars. The ZDX was DOA. Whoever designed and whoever approved the design should have been fired. The new RLX is too little, too late. Its nothing more than an overpriced luxury car wannabe with a poor ride. Their automatic transmissions, only six forward speeds? The Hyundai Accent comes with six speeds. Acuras should by now have seven or eight speeds. Some Acuras like the TSX and even their brand spanking new ILX still have five speeds! What is up with that? They're not just treading water, but sinking fast.

NSX a joke when it came out looked great went like a turd. Yes it's better now but seriously your dropping big bank on a car that a baseline Corvette beats. You want style and performence buy a 2014 Stingray or any AMG Merc.
