We're (patiently) waiting for our first chance to drive the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, but it appears Generous Motors have given some other publications the opportunity to test the new car early, including the fine folks at Motor Trend.

For its latest episode of Ignition, MT puts the new Chevrolet flagship through its paces on the track, including a 0-60 run, figure-eight, quarter-mile sprint, 60-0 braking and lateral acceleration test. Additionally, the Vette is taken out on to public roads and is given the full review treatment in high-definition video glory. We won't spoil all of the details for you – scroll down below to check out this Motor Trend video for yourself.

I've always had great respect for the Vette and love the C6.R but would never think about owning one. But this is a car could see myself owning. And I'm not you general middle aged white guy from Kentucky. I'm a 31 year black male in Charlotte. This car is simply amazing and the fact that you get all of this performance and luxuries at this price shows Chevy isn't playing. Chevy, you did it again but this time the interior in simply nice.

I'd wait until the magazines get to do a full test on their own turf instead of GMs test track. It sounds like they only got so much time to drive it. Who knows, once they have it for a full test the numbers might Improve once they get used to it.

That test was at Milford too. Wait until they get one on their own track with plenty of time to get to know it. You know those cars were getting used up that day.

Interestingly I think all the N/A publications get the same car ... C&D had the car above with about 1200 miles on it .. MT above .. you'll see the car has about 1900 on it. Wonder who we'll see with it next.

They do. GM probably invited someone from each magazine and all they all got to drive it then review it at the same site.

That's great and all, but can it beat the Nissan GT-R? Government Motors are way behind the times.

That might not be the point of this car. The GTR is fast but it's not as much of a budget car, not as much of an everyman's car. It's for a different market all together and does a great job of blending driving pleasure with top-end performance. With the BRZ twins selling like hotcakes even though they are technically slower than so much of the other performance cars in their price-range, we all know the best cars these days very often are tuned for fun, not for numbers.

Yes. When priced accordingly, it'll walk all over the GT-R.

seriously, there's a $50,000 price difference, seriously! if its close I would say it blew the GTR away.

There's not even a comparison between those two cars. over9000 is wrong to bring it up, and you're a moron for stating that the Corvette would be a better value.
