Toyota Prius owners aren't bad folks. With a few exceptions, they're just normal people who appreciate the comfortable, high-mileage hybrid. Someone in Arlington, Virginia doesn't see it that way, though, as 14 examples (and one Smart) had at least one tire slashed last Sunday night.

The serial tire-slasher didn't swipe any items from the vehicles, but he or she has left owners with substantial bills and sour dispositions. According to a report from ABC affiliate WJLA, some citizens are considering the matter a hate crime.

Despite the targeting of Toyota hybrids and the acquisition of one fingerprint, police have been unable to make any arrests, as the slasher has targeted vehicles across the county. Take a look at the local news report from WJLA below.

Blowhards on the political right can\'t leave well enough alone. They have to try to bully drivers of Hybrids and EVs into believing the earth is flat like they do. Neanderthals, all of them.

As pissed I would be if this happened to me I cannot stand Prius owners. They think they are better than everyone. I have a client that owns one and dear lawrd she drives me insane. She is a green freak but she is convinced she is saving the environment. Hell her yard is full of weeds instead of grass. If she only new how un eco friendly the Prius really was. On another note Prius drivers in general are stuck up snobs. They normally chill in the left lane holding up traffic. Move the heck over!

Hmmm...I guess I've not noticed Prii in the left lane. Even on the beltway in/around DC.

Police are profiling all Chevy Volt owners within a 100-mile radius......all 3 of them.

There's a Prius in my company's parking lot, has a sticker with the numbers 26.5 on the gas cap (no idea what that means), and a license plate stating that the driver is an honor student from a fancy university. Smug is as smug does.

WJK. I'm a hypermiler and I cross the intersection before the lazy slobs with their V8s even wake up to the fact the light changed. Hypermilers are *more* aware of the road conditions, *more* engaged with driving, than the slackjaws who think they're "fast away from the lights" because they can go above the speed limit to get past the TDI that just embarrased them.

I don't care what kind of car you drive, you don't touch or mess with other people's car. The fact of the matter is someone worked hard and paid or paying for that car.

This is inexcusable. I don't care what kind of car is being targeted, this is just stupid vandalism. A lack of respect for other people's property is disgraceful.
