Following the reveal of the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class last month, we're eagerly anticipating the next several chapters of the brand's flagship range, especially the all-important S63 AMG. And while Mercedes itself has done a pretty good job of keeping things under wraps, it looks like a mistake was made. As part of its celebration kicking off S-Class production at the company's Sindelfingen, Germany plant, Mercedes released some official videos showing the new sedan coming off the line, and the one you see here is the S63 AMG.

Because of how precisely styled all of Merc's new cars are, the AMG models won't necessarily carry the same sort of visual assault that they've had in generations past. For example, take a look at the brand new CLA250, and then compare it to a CLA45 AMG. Almost identical, right? Even here with the S-Class, the larger air intakes below the front bumper are a dead giveaway about the performance underneath (as are the larger wheels), but it doesn't look substantially more aggressive than the other S-Class models sitting in the same room.

We don't have official details on the new S63 AMG yet, but we expect the company's twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 to be found underhood, putting out something like 550 horsepower in the base model. (Like the new E-Class, an S model will likely be offered). The AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive will likely be part of the S63 AMG package, too.

Scroll down to have a look at the video.

That was not a mistake. They intentionally zoomed in on the S63 badge at the end.

Where is the big daddy S65? Sad that the S63 has likely been developed to a poor where it can blow the S65s doors off from a standing start but at the same time 738 pound feet of torque speaks to me on a level no S63 can.

I wish the S65 had more differentiation from the S63. I'm out in LA and I see countless S63's with the badge stripped off and a S65 badge put on, even though they didn't pay the 60k premium. The only difference I can tell of is the exhaust tips.

Doesn't the S65 AMG have V12 badges on the side? That's another differentiation to the S63 AMG. It's so funny seeing fake badges affixed to the back of Benz' like AMG on a base CLK320.

Make mine black on black on black on black and make it growl like a tiger with a slight rev of the motor.

I'm not going to lie. When I was scrolling down, I really thought that was a crossover.

I was really hoping for something more aggressive. Like on the pre facelift W212, the AMG is noticeably different from the base E class sport. So much meaner. This is barely any different. Come on now, Mercedes... I want an AMG that scares me to look at it too long.

Yay, another twin-turbo V8. For the price of this amazing machine, that's the best they can do?

What were you expecting, exactly? There's emissions and fuel economy numbers to be met.

There's another S Class AMG called the S65. It comes with a bi-turbo V12 with over 600hp and over 700lb. ft of torque. Is that enough for you then? Man, I swear...
