Seeing the wild Lamborghini Egoista is one thing, but hearing the single-seat concept car fire to life in all its glory is something entirely different. Visitors at the Lamborghini 50th anniversary celebration in Sant' Agata got that rare opportunity when the Egoista made its presence felt. Nothing says, "I have arrived" quite like a 5.2-liter V10 barking at the crowd. It may not be the prettiest belle at the ball, but it has the pipes to make even the most jaded among us weak in the knees.

You can catch the clip of the machine firing up in the brief (and sadly shaky) video below. We've also included a more polished video recap from the anniversary celebration. Something tells us you don't need a reason to spend a few minutes watching classic Lamborghini models prancing through Italy. You're welcome.

this car is crazy. i really like it for being that. "Egoista" in Italian translates as 'selfish person' (we would say egotist) in English. i think that it's a perfect name. if they were to bring this out of concept, i wonder how much it would cost? actually, i wonder if anyone would certify it for street use? sorta doubt it...

Folks, I believe we are being witnesses of Winkelmann's midlife crisis. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

It's insane! I love it. But I wish Lambo would put them into production or at very least let media take it for a spin so we could at least vicariously get a taste of what it's like to be behind the wheel of this magnificent beast.

At first, I thought the title read "Watch the Lamborghini Egoista go up in fire on stage."

That's what I read too, was a little disappointed. Not too disappointed though, this thing is definitely cool in one way or another.
