There is plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but it could end up being a fairly anticlimactic reveal thanks to fully exposed spy shots, a leaked press photo and now images of a diecast version of the luxury sedan. Autoweek.nl has images showing a highly detailed 1:18 scale model of the redesigned S-Class that matches up with everything we've seen so far.

This isn't the first time a model car spoiled a new vehicle's reveal, as the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and 2013 SRT Viper were both unceremoniously revealed in toy form first. World Car Fans is reporting that the car 2014 S-Class will be officially unveiled on May 15, but at this point, all that's left to wonder about is the official on-sale date and what will be under the hood.

That's no toy. It's a display souvenir for dealership showroom.

Why doesn't Mercedes just release the official pictures already? SN, this car still doesn't beat my fav S class (The W126), but it's an improvement. ... That's a lot of grill tho...

Darn it Mercedes. Do you really not see how much better the A8 looks than this? If a Korean or Japanese car came out that looked like this, people would trash it openly. Heck - the LS460 has more gravity and style than this.

Did you see the spy/interior shots? The A8 isn't a bad looking car, but I find this more elegant and regal. Whether or not you want that is another story. The A8 is probably more of a driver's car than this.

Uh huh and then proceed to watch it outsell the A8 by a margin of 2 to 1 like it is currently, and that is with an old design, and old tech. Hot stone massage, heated armrests, pillow headrests in the rear etc etc, the A8 does not stand a chance. Also it is gravitas not gravity. lol

FYI its a TOY (die-cast version). Guess you haven't seen the spy-shots and the S-Class has more sex appeal than the A8. ;)

Grille is too big; rear end is too droopy. Overall it looks soft, which doesn't really work on a car this big; it just comes across as bloated and a little bland. I was expecting more.

I bought my first S Class when I was 25. Pretty sure all the pro-athletes and entertainers that buy them also are not old farts. The reality is that the only thing stopping most young people from buying "old fart" cars is lack of money, which I assume applies to you.
